Mirumi by Yukai Engineering: The Charm Robot Buying Guide
Mirumi is a small charm robot from Yukai Engineering that clips onto a bag and turns to react when you pat it, when it hears something, or on its own. This page collects only what Yukai Engineering and Smartmart have published officially — the ¥19,800 Japan retail price, full specifications, colors, battery life, Kickstarter pricing history, and where the robot can currently be bought, in Japan and beyond.
What Is Mirumi?
Mirumi (みるみ) is a charm robot built by Yukai Engineering, the Tokyo-based robotics company also known for Qoobo and Nékojita FuFu. Rather than a toy you play with directly, Mirumi is designed to hang from a bag strap like a plush charm and quietly react to the world around it — the company describes the behavior as Mirumi turning to “steal a look” at you.

Yukai Engineering first showed Mirumi at CES 2025, where it was named to Gizmodo's “The Best Robots of CES 2025,” according to Yukai's own Kickstarter page. It then launched crowdfunding under the title “Mirumi: A Charm Robot that Steals a Glance—and Your Heart,” running December 3, 2025 through January 21, 2026. As currently shown on the live Kickstarter page (viewed September 10, 2026), the campaign shows 2,053 backers and ¥79,419,523 pledged against a ¥765,000 goal, and Kickstarter marked it a “Project We Love.” Yukai Engineering's own April 23, 2026 press release recaps the same campaign as 1,870 backers from 32 countries and regions and ¥74 million+, which it calls the company's highest crowdfunding total to date — we show both figures here because the two official sources state slightly different numbers. Mirumi then went on general sale in Japan on April 23, 2026, priced at ¥19,800 (tax included), per that same official launch release.
Mirumi Price
Mirumi's official Japan retail price is ¥19,800 (tax included), effective from its Japan launch on April 23, 2026, per Yukai Engineering's own launch press release. That is the number to use for “how much is Mirumi” in Japan today — it is sold at that price through Yukai's official online store and at partner retail stores (see Where to Buy below).
Before that retail launch, Mirumi was funded through a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign (December 2025–January 2026) at separate, one-time reward prices, in Japanese yen, tax included. Those reward tiers, last shown on the campaign page as updated June 17, 2026, are kept here as pricing history, not the current retail price:

The discounted Super Early Bird, Early Bird, and most Standard tiers are sold out, but as of September 10, 2026 Kickstarter is still taking new orders through its “Late Pledge” tier at ¥22,951 (no discount), in Pink, Gray, or Ivory — a higher price than the ¥19,800 Japan retail launch price, since it is a crowdfunding reward rather than a store purchase.

Where these numbers come from
Price, release date, colors, materials, dimensions, weight, battery, usable time, and charging time are from Yukai Engineering's official April 23, 2026 Japan launch press release. Charging method, minimum age, strap diameter, and water resistance are from Yukai's Kickstarter campaign page. We do not add any number that is not written in one of these two official sources.
Mirumi Colors
Mirumi officially ships in three colors: Pink, Gray, and Ivory. The Kickstarter campaign also offered a Set of 2 bundle in Ivory & Pink. There is no official Blue Mirumi as of September 10, 2026 — if you have seen the color searched, the current lineup simply does not include it.
Smartmart's used units in Japan are also drawn from these same three colors, Pink, Ivory, or Gray, depending on what is currently in stock.
Mirumi Battery & Charging
Mirumi has a built-in rechargeable lithium-polymer battery, rated 5V, 1A, and runs for about 8 hours on a full charge — Yukai Engineering notes that actual time varies with how often Mirumi is used. A full charge takes about 2 hours. These figures are from Yukai's official April 23, 2026 Japan launch press release.
Mirumi charges over a USB Type-C cable, per Yukai Engineering's Kickstarter page. Rather than a numeric indicator, Mirumi also communicates charge state through behavior: it shakes its head as if tired when the battery is low, and lifts its head energetically once charging is complete and the cable is removed.
Safety notes, from the same Kickstarter source: Mirumi is not a toy and is recommended for ages 15 and up, is not waterproof, should not be washed, and should not be left in hot places.
Where to Buy Mirumi: Preorder Status & Retail Availability
Kickstarter (main campaign closed, Late Pledge open)
Yukai Engineering's main Kickstarter campaign for Mirumi ran December 3, 2025 to January 21, 2026 and finished with 2,053 backers and 79,419,523 yen pledged; Kickstarter's own timeline said those rewards would ship between April and June 2026, depending on region. The discounted Super Early Bird, Early Bird, and most Standard tiers from that campaign are sold out. However, as of September 10, 2026, the same Kickstarter page is still taking new “Late Pledge” orders at the regular price of ¥22,951 (no discount) in Pink, Gray, or Ivory, with an estimated delivery of July 2026 — so “preorder Mirumi” results pointing to Kickstarter are not entirely out of date, even though the early-bird discounts are gone.
Official online store (Japan)
Mirumi's own official online store is store-jp.mirumi.tokyo, which Yukai Engineering's April 23, 2026 press release says opened alongside the Japan retail launch, selling Mirumi at the ¥19,800 (tax included) retail price. This is a different address from Yukai's general global store (below), and is the store Yukai names specifically for Mirumi.
Retail stores in Japan
Per that same official launch release, Mirumi had a first-look preview sale at 12 Tsutaya Shoten and Tsutaya Electrics stores nationwide from April 23–30, 2026, including Daikanyama Tsutaya Books and Futako-Tamagawa Tsutaya Electrics, plus stores in Hakodate, Urawa, Makuhari, Shonan, Nagoya Minato, Kyoto Okazaki, Umeda, Nara, and Ropponmatsu, and EDION Tsutaya Electrics in Hiroshima; the release notes that opening hours and ongoing availability after that preview period vary by store. Yukai's separate consumer site, mirumi.tokyo, lists the same store network as carrying Mirumi, but does not publish a price or an online purchase link in its own text.
Yukai's general global online store
As of September 10, 2026, Yukai Engineering's general global storefront (globalstore.ux-xu.com, distinct from Mirumi's own store above) does not list Mirumi among its products; it currently sells Nékojita FuFu, Qoobo, AMAGAMI HAM HAM, fufuly, and Petit Qoobo.
Is Mirumi sold on Amazon?
We could not confirm an official Mirumi listing on amazon.co.jp or amazon.com as of September 10, 2026. If an Amazon listing appears elsewhere, it is not one we can currently verify as Yukai Engineering's own.

Buying Mirumi From Outside Japan
International expansion (stated plans, not yet confirmed live)
Yukai Engineering's April 23, 2026 press release states that, following the Japan launch, it plans to expand Mirumi sales “sequentially” to Hong Kong — starting with the department store Lane Crawford — then Australia, China, the United States, Thailand, and Germany, and that a Harrods (London) pop-up store is planned for July 2026. We repeat this as the release states it: as company plans and schedules at the time of that release, not as live listings we have verified today. If you are shopping from one of those countries, check the retailer directly for current availability.
Put together, the rest of the picture as of September 10, 2026 is: Yukai Engineering's general global store does not currently list Mirumi, but the Kickstarter page's Late Pledge tier is still open, at the regular price of ¥22,951 with an estimated delivery of July 2026. Kickstarter states this ships to “only certain countries,” so check your own country on the campaign page before pledging — we cannot confirm which countries are included.
